ASP GOES VIRTUAL

Current circumstances have solidified the need to future-proof. Part of our being an actuary is our ability to adapt to change. Today, more than ever, we need to tap on this ability to get through the challenge posted by this pandemic. With physical distancing more likely becoming a norm than an exception for the coming months, the Actuarial Society of the Philippines (ASP) will be moving the quarterly meetings and the annual convention on virtual platforms.

We will start using this format with the 2nd quarterly meeting this July. Actual dates for the 2nd and 3rd quarterly meetings will be announced in the coming weeks. The annual convention is still scheduled on November 12 and 13.

While it is sad that the pandemic took the one time we see most of our actuarial colleagues and friends, where we share a few days and nights of learning, camaraderie and fun, we remain hopeful that the members will look forward and participate in our activities with the same exceptional amount of vigor and excitement as with our previous meetings and conventions.

At some point, things will come back to what it was before with some changes here and there. The day will come when we get to see each other and enjoy each other’s company again. It will not be long when we get to experience things again, big and small, that we miss. Until then, stay safe and healthy.
