The Actuarial Society of the Philippines, Inc held its 53rd Annual Convention last November 8-9, 2012 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu City. This year’s theme is “Beyond Borders: Focus on the Changing Role of the Actuary” to highlight the opportunities brought about by changes in the practice of the profession, the need for the expertise and the application of training. The theme also wishes to inspire particularly the young actuaries to look beyond the traditional and explore other areas where they can apply what they have learned.
The event was attended by 185 delegates with 9 paper presentations from both local and foreign speakers.
The Society’s convention was concluded by the Induction of the 2013 Officers which was led by Cebu City Mayor Michael L. Rama.
